Front Plate and Guide

Cut out the front plate from a another piece of ABS flat stock 130mm x 90mm. Also, make another shaft guide from flat ABS 25mm x 25mm and drill a 5/16 hole in the center. Place the shaft guide on the front of the worm gear shaft as shown in the picture below. Apply cement to the bottom of the front plate edge and to the outer surface of the shaft guide and carefully place the front plate into position. Make sure the shaft guide makes good contact with the front plate, the worm gear shaft remains aligned with the motor and that the front plate is aligned and square. Hold the front plate in place until the cement cures a little then let the whole assembly sit until the cement cures completely. Tack temporary scrap pieces of of ABS plastic across the plates to hold them in place if required (bottom right picture). Check that everything is aligned and not binding by connecting the motor to a battery and driving it in both directions.
